How is Archittect better than VSCode snippets?

VSCode snippets are a great way of generating code from boilerplate. However, they have a few limitations Archittect solves:

  • VSCode snippets are not shareable with your team. Archittect do allow you to.
  • You cannot use VSCode snippets in other text editors. Archittect will allow you to in the future.
  • VSCode snippets are meant to be used/created from a single file. Archittect allows you to use/create your templates across multiple files.
  • VSCode snippets are cumbersome to create. On the other hand, Archittect allows you to create templates from a text editor.

Is Copilot better than Architect?

No. They are not comparable. Archittect will allow you to get boilerplate code out of your way keeping it consistent. Copilot will help you write the rest of the code with predictive suggestions.

Both tools are encouraged to be used together.

Do I need an account to start using Archittect?

Yes, we will prompt you to sign up; however, you won't need to enter any payment details until you're ready to upgrade to a paid plan.

We have plans to support other IDEs in the future as well as other environments such as the browser, CLI, REST API, and more.
